3、inesshavenotalwaysgonehand-in-hand.Environmentalinitiatives,oftenimposedthroughlegislationandregulation,cutintothebottomlineofbusinesses.Theywereregardedasunnecessaryexpensesratherthanvaluableassets.Butthosearebygonedays.Nowweallappreciatethat"goinggreen"makesexcellentbusinesssense.Bycombin

4、inggreenstrategieswithbusinessmodels,companiescansaveenergy,recycleproductsandhelptoprotecttheenvironment.Thisinturncutscosts,promotesapositiveimageandencouragescustomerloyalty.Surveysfrequentlyindicatethatcustomersarebecomingincreasinglyconcernedabouttheenvironmentalimpactoftheproductsthey

5、buy.Theyarechangingtheirbuyinghabitsinfavourofgoodsandservicesfromcompanieswithastrongenvironmentalcommitment.Apositiveenvironmentalimagealsohelpsfirmsretainstaffandattractnewtalent.Thesearesomeofthewaysthatacommitmenttotheenvironmentcangivefirmsacompetitiveedge.Atthesametime,ournationChina

6、iswinningthecleanenergyrace,accordingtoarecentglobalstudypublishedbytheUSPewEnvironmentGroup.ThestudyshowsthatChinainvestedmorethanUS$54billioninlow-carbonenergytechnologylastyear.GermanywassecondinthetablewiththeUSinthirdplace.ThishighlightsChina'scommitmenttopromotingsustainableeconomicgr
