2、technology,facerecognitionhasbecameoneofthemostimportantresearchaspectsinthebiologicalfeaturesrecognitiondomain.Nowadays,PCA(PrincipalComponentsAnalysis)hasappliedinrecognitionbasedonmanyfacedatabaseandachievedgoodresults.However,PCAhasitslimitations:thelarge
3、volumeofcomputingandthelowdistinctionability.Inviewoftheselimitations,thispaperputsforwardafacerecognitionmethodbasedonred-blackwavelettransformandPCA.Theimprovedhistogramequalizationisusedtorealizeimagepre-processinginordertocompensatetheillumination.Then,ap
4、plingthered-blackwaveletsub-bandwhichcontainstheinformationoftheoriginalimagetoextractthefeatureanddomatching.Comparingwiththetraditionalmethods,thisonehasbetterrecognitionrateandcanreducethecomputationalcomplexity.Keywords:Red-blackwavelettransform,PCA,Facer
