4、ionsaddressedbycurrentresearchstudiesineducation,aseachnewinvestigationhastotakeintoaccounttheresultsandimplicationsofthosethatprecedeit.Inlinewiththisconceptualcomplexity,complexresearchdesignsandstatisticalmodelsarenowoftenrequiredtoaccountfortheaccumulatedknowledgeaboutaphenomenonwhileaddressi

6、erformanceofstudents.Theschoolenvironmentwasconceptualizedintofiveaspects:instructional,structural,human,political,andcultural.ThestudentperformancewasassessedintermsoflearningefficacyandtheChinese,EnglishandMathematicsachievementsintheHongKongAttainmentTest.Thestudywasacross-sectionalsurvey,invo
