5、omtheexperimentalworksofdifferentresearchers.Strongexponentialrelationshipsbetweenthepenetrationratesoftunnelboringmachine(TBM)andthebrittlenessofB1(theratioofcompressivestrengthtotensilestrength)andB2(theratioofcompressivestrengthminustensilestrengthtocompressivestrengthplustensilestrength)werefou
6、nd.Thereisnocorrelationbetweenthepenetrationratesofthediamonddrillingtoolandthebrittlenessvalues.StrongexponentialcorrelationsexistbetweenthepenetrationratesofrotarydrillsandthebrittlenessofB1andB2.However,nocorrelationbetweenthepenetrationrateofrotarydrillsandthebrittlenessofB3(theproductofpercent
7、ageoffinesinimpactstrengthtestandcompressivestrength)wasfound.ThepenetrationrateofpercussivedrillsdoesnotexhibitacorrelationwiththebrittlenessofB1andB2,butthepenetrationrateofpercussivedrillsisstronglycorrelatedwiththebrittlenessofB3.Itwasconcludedthateachmethodofmeasuringbrittlenesshasitsusageinro
