2、ericanwritertotrytoearnalivingthroughwritingalone,resultinginafinanciallydifficultlifeandcareer.EdgarAllanPoeHewasborninBoston,Massachusetts;hewasorphanedyoungwhenhismotherdiedshortlyafterhisfatherabandonedthefamily.PoewastakeninbyJohnAllan.EdgarAllanPoeHeattendedtheUniversityofVirginiaforoneseme

3、sterbutleftduetolackofmoney.ThenenlistedintheArmyandlaterfailingasanofficer'scadetatWestPoint.EdgarAllanPoeIn1836,Poe,then27,marriedhis13-year-oldcousin,VirginiaClemm.Theyweremarriedforsomeelevenyearsuntilherearlydeath,whichmayhaveinspiredsomeofhiswritingHeattendedtheUniversityofVirginiaforonesem

4、esterbutleftduetolackofmoney.ThenenlistedintheArmyandlaterfailingasanofficer'scadetatWestPoint.EdgarAllanPoePoewasnevercoherentlongenoughtoexplainhowhecametobeinhisdirecondition,and,oddly,waswearingclothesthatwerenothisown.EdgarAllanPoeisburiedinBaltimore,Maryland.Thecircumstancesandcauseofhisdea
