1、阅读理解词义推测题解题技巧□黄小宝阅读理解词义推测题经常使用的提问方式有：1.Whatdoyouthinktheunderlinedexpression"……"standfor?2.Whatdoesthewritermeanbysaying"……"?3.Theunderlinedword"……"refersto/probablymeans/couldbestbereplacedby_______.4.Theunderlinedword"……"ismostlikelytomean_______.5."

2、……"asusedinthepassagecanbedefinedas_______.等等。通过教学积累和解题体会，笔者现将阅读理解词义推测题解题方法归纳为六大解题技巧，即上下文语境线索法、定义法、因果关系法、构词法、常识联想法、标点格式暗示法。一、上下文语境线索法在阅读短文过程中，遇见不熟悉的词或词组时，能根据上下文的某些相关的单词、短语或句子推测词义。例1.Theunderlinedword"untouched"asusedinPara.1canbedefinedas_______.A.secu

3、reB.specialC.naturalD.artificial第一段：YouknowAustraliaisabigcountry,butyoumaynotknowhoweasyitistogetaround.Theuntouchedbeachesthatgoformilesanddesertthattouchthehorizonarejustthere,waitingtobereachedandexplored.……由该词所在句子的后面部分"waitingtobereachedandexplore

4、d"可知，海滩和沙漠还有待人们去涉足和探索，说明这些海滩和沙漠是自然的。所以最佳答案是C项。例2.Theunderlinedpartinthelastparagraphmostprobablyreferstosomething_______.A.acceptableB.understandableC.reliableD.unreasonable最后一段："Iexpectedwe'dfindthatthis(sleeplinkwithobesity)wasjustabunchofbunk,"saysL

5、umeng,apediatrician.Buttheirfindingswereconvincing.……这一句"Buttheirfindingswereconvincing."意思是：“但他们的研究结论却很有说服力”。由此推知，前后两句的意思是:“他们本来希望这种说法是错误的，但是研究结论却让人们不得不相信睡眠和肥胖有关联。”划线部分的含义就是：somethingunreasonable。所以最佳答案是D项。二、定义法在英语短文中，需要定义和解释的单词或短语大多是专有名词、生僻词或文中重要的词。作
