3、ieldissimple.Normally,allthebulkpolymerizationsarecarriedoutinvessels.AlthoughweknowtheinsitustudyofthepolymerizationisveryveryimportantforLCPsyntheses,wearenotabletodirectlyexaminethemorphologyofthereactionsystemduringthepolymerizationprocessinthevessel.Inordertosolvethisproblem,wedevelo
4、pedathinfilmpolymerizationtechniquetoinsituobservetheLCtextureevolutionandthemicrostructurechangesofthepolymerizationsystem.Inourstudy,thereactionsystemweusedisaverythinlayer,sowecandirectlyobservethereactionthroughapolarizingmicroscope.Usingthistechnique,wecancarryoutresearchinmanyimport
5、antareasforLCPs,suchas……Thesearesomeoftherelatedpaperswepublishedinthisfield.Intheexperimentalpart,Iwillroughlygothroughthemonomersynthesisandthethinfilmpolymerization.ThemonomersweusedinthisstudyareABAandANA.TheyaresynthesizedbytheacetylationofHBAandHNA,respectively.Usingthesetwomonomers
6、,wewillcarryoutthecopolymerizationreactionunderapolarizingmicroscope.Thisistheexperimentalsetupforourthinfilmpolymerization.Wehavetwoglassslides,thetoponeandthebottomone.Thereactionsystemareattachedonthetopglassslide.Betweenthetopandbottomglassslides,thereisaringspacertoreleasetheby-produ
