5、1968[1].Asseveralmembersofthisvirusgroupareknowntocauseeconomicallyimportantdiseases,mucheffortwasputintoresearchduringthelastyears.Specialreviewscoverthereplicationstrategyofcoronaviruses[2],theirglycoproteins[3]andtheirstructureandgenomeexpression[4].Therecentdetectionofpreviouslyunkn
6、owncoronavirusesormutants,likethe"PorcineEpidemicDiarrhea"-virus(PEDV)andtheTGE-like"PorcineRespiratoryCoronavirus"(PRCV)ononehandandnewknowledgeaboutpathogeneticmechanisms,forexampleinFIPV-infections,ontheotherhandarethebasisforthisreviewarticle.Coronavirusesarepleomorphicparticleswith
7、adiameterof60-220nm,possessingtypicalclub-shapedspikes.TheirphysicochemicalandbiologicalpropertiesandantigenicrelationshipswerereviewedbyWegeetal.[5].Antigenicallytheyaregroupedinto4classes:Group1:TransmissibleGastroenteritisVirus(TGEV),CanineCoronavirus(CCV),FelineInfectiousPe
