6、irusthehumanrespiratorycoronavirus229EanddescribeditsmorphologyfromnegativelystainedConfluentmonolayersofMRC-Ccellswerepreparations.However,Macnaughtonetal.[10]infectedwith229Evirusandsimultaneouslylabelledrecentlydescribedthemorphologyfollowingnegativewith100/~Ci/m
7、lof[5-3H]uridine(spec.act.5.0Ci/stainingofribonucleoprotein(RNP)-likestructuresinmmol).(TheRadiochemicalCentre,Amersham).Thetheirpreparationsof229Eviruswhichwereclearlycultureswereincubatedat35°Candviruswashar-dissimilar,bothindiameterandappearancetothosevestedat36h
