3、vedfromthe3'endoftheFIPVgenome.TwoORFswerefound,encodingpolypeptidesof11K(ORF-1)and22K(ORF-2).TheFIPVsequencewascomparedtothe3'endsequenceoftransmissiblegastroenteritisvirus(TGEV).ORF-1hasahomologouscounterpart(ORF-X3)intheTGEVgenome;bothORFsarelocat
4、edatthesamepositionrelativetothenucleocapsidgene.However,asaresultofanin-frameinsertionordeletion,ORF-1is69nucleotideslargerthanORF-X3.AsimilareventhasoccurredimmediatelydownstreamofORF1:a624-nucleotidesegment,containingthecompleteORF-2,isabsentinthe
5、TGEVsequence.Mostsequencesimilarity(98.5%)wasfoundinthe3'noncodingsequences.ORF-X3andORF-1areprecededbythesequenceAAC-TAAAC,whichisassumedtobethetranscription-initiationsignalinFIPVandTGEV(P.A.KapkeandD.A.Brian(1986)Virology151,41-49).BySlnucleaseana
6、lysis,the5'endofFIPVRNA6wasmappedimmediatelyupstreamofthissequence.A700-nucleotideTGEV-specificRNAwasfoundbycross-hybridizationwithanFIPV3'endprobe,suggestingthatTGEVORF-X3isalsocarriedonaseparatemRNA.Thedifferencesatthe3'endsoftheFIPVandTGEVgenomesm
