1、AbstractBusinessmodelinnovationhasbecomeanewsourceofimprovingperformanceandgettingcompetitiveadvantageofenterprises.However,therewerefewpapersonbusinessmodelinnovationandperformanceincurrentacademicresearch,andmostofthemusedthecasestudy,therewasalackofempiricalstud

2、ywithalargesample.What’smore,accordingtocontingencytheory,thereisnotacommonbusinessmodelwhichisapplicabletoallkindofsituations,differentthemesofbusinessmodelinnovationarerequiredtomatchdifferentkindofsituationswithdifferentopportunitiesandthreats,therebyenhancingco

3、mpetitiveness.Therefore,thispaperdividesbusinessmodelinnovationintotwotypes:efficiency•centeredbusinessmodelinnovationandnovelty•centeredbusinessmodelinnovationaccordingtoZott&Amit(2007),thenconductsempiricalanalysistoexploretheinfluencesofbothkindsofbusinessmodeli

4、nnovationonperformance,andtoexplorethedifferentinfluencesofthebothkindsofbusinessmodelinnovationonperformanceunderdifferentlife-cyclestagesofenterpriseanddifferentrelationalembeddedness.Studyresultsfoundthat:(1)Bothofefficiency•centeredbusinessmodelinnovationandnov

5、elty•centeredbusinessmodelinnovationhaveapositiveeffectonfirmperformance.(2)Thepositiveeffectsofahighlyefficiency-centeredbusinessmodeldesignonfirmperformancehavenosignificantdifferencebetweenfirmsintheirlaterstagesandfirmsintheirearlystages;Whilethepositiveeffects

6、ofahighlynovelty-centeredbusinessmodeldesignonfirmperformancearestrongerforfirmsintheirearlystagesthanforfirmsintheirlaterstages(3)Thepositiveeffectsofahighlyefficiency-centeredbusinessmodeldesignonfirmperformancearestrongerforfirmsinthestrongcouplinglinkstatethanf
