1、AbstractAtpresent,China’seconomyisfacedwiththesituationofinsufficientdomesticdemandandlowerconsumptionratio.Thelowhouseholdconsumptionratewillaffectthenormaloperationofthenationaleconomy.Overthelongterm,itwillhavebadinfluenceonthedevelopmentofeconomy.Sothispaperstartswithe

2、xpandingtheruralresidents’consumptionlevel,thenweanalysetheruralresidents’consumptionfromtheperspectiveofpopulationagestructure.Theresidents’consumptionincludesurbanresidents’consumptionandruralresidents’consumption.Thedatafromallprovincesindicatesthattheurbanresidents’con

3、sumptionlevelisgenerallyhigherthanruralresidents,about2.5timesthelevelofconsumptionofruralresidents.Wecantellfromthestatisticsthatthelatentcapacityofruralresidents’consumptionisrelativelylarge.Firstly,wereviewthedevelopmentofhouseholdconsumptionrateanddependencyratio.Thenw

4、eelaboratetherelatedtheoryaboutconsumption.Afterthat,weadaptchilddependencyratioandelderlydependencyratioasindextomeasurepopulationagestructure.Basedontheresearchofruralresidents’consumptionstructure,wealsousetheoreticalmodelandempiricalmodeltostudyit.Fromthetheoreticalmod

5、el,wegettheresultthatthosetwoindexeshaveuncertainimpactontheconsumptionlevelofruralresidents.Butfromtheempiricalanalysis,weknowthatthereisasignificantpositivecorrelationbetweenthechilddependencyratioandtheconsumptionofruralresidents,whichsupportTheLife-CycleTheory.Inthemea
