2、behaviour.TheSWIFTtyremodelhasbeendesignedtocoverin-plane,out-of-planeandcombinedhigherorderdynamictyreperformance.ItcanberegardedasanextensionoftheMagicFormulapragmatictyremodel,uptoarangeofatleastabout70Hz:ThispaperdescribestheapplicationoftheSWIFTtyremodeltofullvehicleABSbraking.Firs
3、t,themodelisusedtoderivethesingletyreresponsetoroadundulationsandbraketorquestepinput,bothbeingverymuchofrelevancetoABSbraking.Thisincludesasurveyofthesensitivityofthedynamictyreparametersregardingthefirst,rigidbelt,eigenfrequenciesandtherelativedamping.Next,theresponseofaquartervehiclet
4、osimilarinputisdiscussedwithspecificemphasisontheaddedvalueofthedynamiccharacteristicsoftheSWIFTmodelincomparisontosteadystateandtransienttyremodels.Finally,fullvehicleABScontrolledbrakingonanevenroadisconsideredforvariousroadfrictionvaluesandvehiclespeed.1.IntroductionOneaspectofvehicle
5、safetyisbrakingasfastaspossiblewhilemaintainingstabilityandsteerability.TheautomotivecomponenttoachievethisistheABSsystem,firstintroducedin1978.ABSbrakinginitiatestyrebeltoscillationsand,withthisinmind,atyremodelSWIFTwasdevelopedthatisgearedtotheanalysisoftyreoscillationsanditseffectsonv
6、ehiclebehaviour.Itprovidesforvarioussidewallstiffnesses,adescriptionofthestiffnessofthetyreinlow-velocityconditions,andadescriptionoftheslipbehaviourinthecontactarea.TheSWIFTtyremodelhasbeendesignedtocoverbothin-plane,out-of-planeandcombinedhigherorderdynamictyreperformanceuptoarangeofa
7、tleastabout70Hz:AspartoftheapplicationsofSWIFT,itcanhandledynamictyreresponsetobraketorquevariationsaswellasroadunevennesses.SWIFThasbeenwellvalidatedfordifferenttyres.AnoutlineofthefacilitiesasnewlydevelopedandappliedwithintheSWIFTresearchprojectisgivenbyPauwelussen(1999).Theg
