3、umofPMSMswiththeaimofdevelopinganeffectivecondition-moni-toringscheme.Harmonicsofthestatorcurrentsinducedbythefaultconditionsareexamined.Simulationbymeansofatwo-dimensionalfinite-elementanalysis(FEA)softwarepackageandexperimentalresultsarepresentedtosubstantiatethesuccessfulappl

4、icationoftheproposedmethodoverawiderangeofmotoroperationconditions.Methodsbasedoncontinuouswavelettransform(CWT)anddiscretewavelettransform(DWT)havebeensuccessfullyappliedtodetectandtodiscriminatedemagnetizationfaultsinPMSMmotorsundernonstationaryconditions.Additionally,areduce

5、dsetofeasy-to-computediscriminatingfeaturesforbothCWTandDWTmethodshasbeendefined.Wehaveshowntheeffectivenessoftheproposedmethodbymeansofexperimentalresults.IndexTerms—Demagnetization,faultdiagnosis,finite-elementmethods,permanent-magnetsynchronousmotor,processmonitoring,wavelettr
