4、edmanycompanies,takenfarlonger,costmuchmorethanexpectedandfailedtodeliveraspromised.Acentralrationaleforthefailureistheinherentdisconnectbetweenthegoalsandobjectivesoftheproduct-centricengineeringconstituentsandacompany’sfinanciallybasedbusinessobjectives.Thebestexampleofthis

5、departmentalconflictisthestarkdifferencebetweenthelanguageofengineeringandthelanguageofbusinessMCADandPLMhistoricallyhavefocusedontheengineeringanddesignaspectsofproductdelivery.ThelanguageofengineeringasspokenbyMCADandPLMisbasedonphysicalattributesoftheproductandtechnologica
