1、随着我国经济的快速发展，智能交通系统将会成为现代交通管理发展的必然趋势八车辆口动识别系统是智能交通系统(ITS)实现的前捉。车牌识别是车辆自动识别系统屮最冇发展前景的技术之一。车牌识别系统主要由车牌定位、字符分割和字符识别三部分组成。其中，车牌定位是字符分割和字符识別的基础，对整个系统的性能起着至关重耍的作用r决定着系统的识别速度和识别精度。从图像处理的性质來看，车牌定位主要分为基于灰度图像的车牌定位和基于彩色图像的车牌定位。基于灰度图像的车牌定位速度较快，但定位精度不高，受环境、光照等因索影响较大；彩色图像包含的信息比灰度图像多得多，因而更易于车

2、牌定位，但运算量大，因此，基于彩色图像的车牌定位研究较少近年来，随着计算机技术和图像处理技术的飞速发展，基于彩色图像的车牌定位将是车牌定位研究的热点。本文利用数字图像处理技术对彩色汽车图像的车牌定位技术进行了研究。首先研究了车牌定位技术的发展现状，分析了车牌定位技术的难点。然后详细介绍了数字图像处理技术的基本概念、数学表示、基本运算、研究内容、处理方法和应用领域。接着对现有车牌定位技术进行研究，提出了一种基于像索分类的车牌定位方法。根据车牌底色像索RGB值不同，对像素分类，并进行分析统计，综合利用车牌形状特征和颜色特征来确定车牌区域。实验结果表明，
