3、radeistheprimaryvehicleforrealizingthebenefitsofglobalization.Importbringsadditionalcompetitionandvarietyofdomesticmarketsbenefitingtheconsumers.Benefitingbusiness,foreigntradegivesfirmsaccesstoimprovedcapitalinputssuchasmachine,tools,boostingproductivityaswell.Foreigntradeen
4、couragestheredistributionoflaborandcapitaltorelativelymoreproductivesectors.Inparticular,ithascontributedtotheongoingshiftofsomemanufacturingandserviceactivitiesfromindustrialtodevelopingcountriesprovidingnewopportunitiesforgrowth(WDR1999/2000).WorldDevelopmentReport(1999/200
5、0)highlightsthatthetradeofgoodsandserviceshasgrowntwiceasfastasglobalGDPinthe1990'sandtheshareattributabletodevelopingcountrieshasclimbedfrom23to29percent.Theexplosivegrowthofinformationandcommunicationtechnologyby25percentbetweentheperiod1994-1997alonehasofferedanotheropport
6、unityfordevelopingcountries.Nepal,adevelopingcountry,hasprofoundpotentialoninformationtechnology,whichmaysolvetheproblemoflandlockednessandtradeandtariffbarrier.Theopportunitiesongarments,carpetsandotheragricultureandservicerelatedproductionsandgoodaccesstoherbalproductionand
