4、eductionsareattainable,thewarehouseiseconomicallyjustified.Fourbasiceconomicbenefitsareconsolidationbreakbulkandcrossdock,processing/postponement,andstockpiling.Eachisdiscussedandillustrated.1.3ConsolidationShipmentconsolidationisaneconomicbenefitofwarehousing.Withthisarrangement,theconsolidatingw

5、arehousereceivesandconsolidatesmaterialsfromanumberofmanufacturingplantsdestinedtoaspecificcustomeronasingletransportationshipment.Thebenefitsaretherealizationofthelowestpossibletransportationrateandreducedcongestionatacustomer’sreceivingdock.Thewarehouseallowsboththeinboundmovementfromthemanufact
