3、munitysettings.Thedesireforfestivalsandeventsisnotspecificallydesignedtoaddresstheneedsforanyoneparticulargroup.Thehostingofeventsareoftendevelopedbecauseofthetourismandeconomicopportunitiesadditiontosocialandculturalbenefits.Manyresearchershavecontestedth

4、atlocalcommunitiesplaysvitalroleindevelopmentoftourismthroughfestivals.Eventshavethepotentialtogenerateavastamountoftourismwhentheycatertoout-of-regionvisitors,grants,orsponsorships,(Getz,1997)ofdirectorindirectintent.Thegovernmentnowsupportandpromoteevent

5、saspartoftheirstrategiesforeconomicdevelopment,nationbuildingandculturaltourism.Theeventsinturnareseenasimportanttoolforattractingvisitorsandbuildingimagewithindifferentcommunities.AccordingtoStiernstrand(1996),theeconomicimpactoftourismarisesprincipallyfr

6、omtheconsumptionoftourismproductsinageographicalarea.AccordingtoMcDonnell,AllenandO’Toole(1999),tourismrelatedservices,whichincludetravel,accommodation,restaurants,shoppingarethemajorbeneficiariesoftheevent.Asfaraseventsandtourismisconcerned,therolesandres
