2、9,theysurelycouldneverhaveimaginedthatwe’dstillbehere30yearslater.Byactingonthebasisoftheirsharedpoliticalandintellectualideas,Antipode’sfoundersmadearealdifferencetothedisciplineofgeo-graphy.Notonlydidtheycreateaspaceforradicalformulations,research,andcommunication,butovertimetheyalsoplayedamaj
3、orpartinreshap-ingtheconcerns,methods,andleadershipofgeography.Moreover,theverycollectivityoftheirendeavourcontributedtoradicalgeography’senduringeffect.Forwhileindividualscholarsmighthavemovedtowardsrelevancy,radicalism,andrevolutionintheheadyatmosphereofthelate1960sand1970s,theproductionofthis
4、journalprovidedaplatformfromwhichtoreproduceandreinvigorateleftisttraditionsovertime.Antipodehashelpedtoensurethatradicalideasarealiveandwellwithingeography.Intakingovertheeditorialrolewewanttoensurethatthisstrongtraditioncontinues.WeareextremelygratefultoallthosewhohavepushedAntipode—andtheproj
5、ectofradicalgeography—alongoverthepast30years.Inparticular,wewanttothanktheoutgoingeditors,DickWalker,LindaMcDowell,andMikeDavis,andtheireditorialboardmembersforalltheyhavedone.OurpredecessorshavedefendedanddevelopedAntipode’sroleasaspaceforradicalanalysis,argumentation,andpraxisinwhathavebeendi
