2、ee,CED53FOREWORDThisIndianStandard(SecondRevision)wasadoptedbytheBureauofIndianStandards,afterthedraftfinalizedbytheCementMatrixProductsSectionalCommitteehadbeenapprovedbytheCivilEngineeringDivisionCouncil.Thisstandardwaspublishedin1959andsubsequentlyrevisedin1978tointroduc
3、eprestressedconcretecylinderpipes,requirementsoffittings,provisionofmoredetailsondesigncriteriaforthepipes,etc.Thisstandardlaysdowntherequirementsofprestressedconcretepipesprimarilyusedfortheconveyanceofwaterandsewerageandspecialsforusewiththem.Twotypesofprestressedconcrete
4、pipesarecoveredbythisspecification,namely,prestressedconcretecylinderpipesandprestressedconcretenon-cylinderpipes,Thissecondrevisionincorporatesnumberofmodifications,themostsignificantofthembeing:a)modificationsindesignandotheraspects,b)inclusionoftypicalworkedoutexamplesof
5、design,c)inclusionofdetailedinspectionprocedure,andd)increaseinrangeofdiametersofpipes.Intheformulationofthisstandard,assistancehasbeenderivedforEN642:1994PrestressedConcretePressurePipes,CylinderandNon-Cylinder,EuropeanCommitteeforStandardization(CEN).Thecompositionofthete
6、chnicalcommitteeresponsibleforformulationofthisstandardisgivenatAnnexK.Forthepurposeofdecidingwhetheraparticularrequirementofthisstandardiscompliedwith,thefinalvalue,observedorcalculated,expressingtheresultofatestoranalysis,shallberoundedoffinaccordancewithIS2:1960‘Rulesfor
