4、tionmaybereproduced,byanymeanswhatsoever,withoutthepriorwrittenpermissionofITU.RecommendationE.142TIME-TO-ANSWERBYOPERATORS1Quickansweringbyoperatorstocallsmadeoverinternationalcircuitsisessentialforarapidandsatisfactorytelephoneserviceandfortheefficientuseofsuchcircuits.2Tothisend,asufficientnu
5、mberofoperatorsshouldbeprovided,andtheyshouldcooperatewithoneanother,sothattheansweringtimedoesnotexceed5secondsfor80%ofcalls.3Theseprovisionsapplytoboththemanualandsemiautomaticserviceforincomingoperators,assistanceoperators,anddelayoperators.4Insemiautomaticoperating,thetime-to-answerforincomi
6、ngoperators,thatis:–incomingoperators(code11oraspecificnumberinthecaseoftrafficwithcertaincountries),–delayoperators(code12oraspecificnumberinthecaseoftrafficwithcertaincountries),should,accordingly,bethetime-to-answershowninthisRecommendation.5Insemiautomaticoperating,thetime-to-answerbyassista
