2、ortantfortheBASengineertoselecttheproperBASHVACcontrolsystemandprogramstocontrolthevarioustypesofHVACsystemsinaparticularautomatedbuilding.Forbuildingautomationsystemstobeeffective,itisimportantthattheBASsystemisinstalledandtunedproperly.SomeadvantagesofagoodHVACBASbuilding

3、automationsystemare:·BuildingAutomationSystem(BAS)shouldallowtheownertosetupschedulesofoperationfortheequipmentandlightingsystemssothatenergysavingscanberealizedwhenthebuildingorspacesinthebuildingareunoccupied.·BuildingAutomationSystem(BAS)shouldallowtheequipmentoptimalsta

4、rtwithadaptivelearning.Optimalstartisallowingtheequipmenttobebroughtoninanorderedandsequentialmannerautomaticallyonaschedulebeforethebuildingisreoccupiedsothatspacesetpointscanberealizedbeforeoccupation.Adaptivelearningallowsthesystemtocomparespacetemperature,outsideaircond

5、itions,andequipmentcapabilitiessothattheequipmentcanbeturnedonatanappropriatetimetoensurespacesetpointsareachievedbeforeoccupation.·BuildingAutomationSystem(BAS)shouldhavetrimandrespondcapabilities.Basedonzonedemandthesetpointforvariousheatingandcoolingsourceswillchangeacco

6、rdingtodemandfromthezones.InaVAVsystemalltheVAVboxesareservedfromacentralairhandlingunit.Ifallthezonesareatsetpointthenthesupplyairtemperaturesetpointoftheairhandlerisautomaticallychangedtopreventmechanicalcoolingfromoccurringwhenitisunnecessary.Whenthezonesgrowwarmerthesup

7、plyairtemperaturesetpointisautomaticallyloweredtoallowmechanicalcoolingtosatisfydemand.Oldersystemshaveasinglesupplyairtemperaturesetpointof55°Fahrenheitwhichrequiresthecompressorstocycleevenwhenitisnotnecessary.·BuildingAutomationSystem(BAS)shouldhavetheabilitytomonitorene
