3、ographerH.Louisfirstlybroughtforwardthisconceptin1936.ThenitcomparesthedifferencesaboutsomeconceptsforareabetweenurbanandruralinChinasuchassuburb,crisscrossalgaofurbanandrural,urbanfi-inge,anddefinestheirboundsforuse.Becausetheconditionforthisconcept'sconfu-sion,itisconsideredthattheconcept
4、ofurbanfringeismoresuitablethanotherconceptstodescribethisspe-cialareaforthefollowingreasons.First,urbanfi-ingedirectlyperceivedreflectsthetrendsandintermediatestateabouttheareabetweentheurbanandthecountryside.Second,theconceptofurbanfi-ingehasarelative-lylonghistoryofitsdevelopment,anditha
