2、gemaneuvers.Themodelconsistsofalinearquadraticregulatorpath-followingcontrollercoupledtoaneuromuscularsystem(NMS).TheNMSgeneratesthesteeringwheelangledemandedbythepath-followingcontroller.Themodeldemonstratesthatreflexactionandmusclecocontractionimprovethesteeranglecontrolandthusincreasethepath
3、-followingaccuracy.Musclecocontractiondoesnothavethedestabilizingeffectofreflexaction,butthereisanenergycost.Acostfunctionisusedtocalculateoptimumvaluesofcocontractionthataresimilartothoseobservedintheexperiments.Theobservedreductionincocontractionwithexperienceofthevehicleisexplainedbythedrive
4、rlearningtopredictthesteeringtorquefeedback.Theobservedrobustnessofthepath-followingcontroltounexpectedchangesinsteeringtorquefeedbackarisesfromthereflexactionandcocontractionstiffnessoftheNMS.Thefindingscontributetotheunderstandingofdriver-vehicledynamicinteraction.Furtherworkisplannedtoimprov
