4、trepresentativeofthemetaphysicalpoets.Despitehisgreateducationandpoetictalents,Donnelivedinpovertyforseveralyears,relyingheavilyonwealthyfriends.In1601,DonnesecretlymarriedAnneMoore,withwhomhehadtwelvechildren.In1621,hewasappointedtheDeanofStPaul'sCathed
5、ralinLondon.Healsoservedasamemberofparliamentin1601andin1614.In1615,hebecameanAnglicanpriest,althoughhedidnotwanttotakeAnglicanorders.PartofthehousewhereJohnDonnelivedinPyrfordAfewmonthsbeforehisdeath,JohnDonnecommissionedthisportraitofhimselfasheexpecte
