3、body’simmuneresponsetohealitselffromsometypeofdamagecausedbyavirus,bacteria,fungus,environmentaltoxin,oraninjury.Thebloodvesselsnearthesitebecomemiraculouslypermeableandthesitebecomeswarmandredduetotheincreasedbloodflow(warm,henceinflammation).Neutrophilsandmacrophagesengulfmicroorganismsandpha
4、gocytesarecalledin.Someimmunecellstryto“eat”theinvaders;othersexcretehydrogenperoxide(andotheroxidativechemicals)tryingtokilltheinvaderssotheycanbecleanedupbythephagocytesandtheirfriends.Withoutthecrucialprocessofacuteinflammation,thebodycouldnothealitself.Allinflammationstartsinthisacutephase.
5、Wheneveryourbodybecomesdamagedinsomecapacityduetoaforeignagent,anditrespondsimmediatelytorepairthedamage.Inmanycases,thisreactiongoesundetected,oryoursymptomsaresomildthattheyareevenunnoticeable.Oncethethreat(fire)isgone,thebodyisabletogobacktoanon-emergencystate—andtheacuteinflammationprocesst
