4、ENOFTEXTBOOKSW.W.PattyandW.I.PainterIndianaUniversityAmongtheimportantfactorsthatshouldbeconsideredwhenselectingatextbookforhigh-schooluseisthatofvocabularyburden.Itseemsevidentthateaseofreadingandunderstandingthewordsofatextbookisanimportantindextoitslearningdifficulty.Afewstudieshavebeenma
5、depreviouslyinthisfield.LIMITATIONSOFSOMEVOCABULARYSTUDIESLivelyandPressey1selectedonethousandwordunitsfromeachofsixteendifferenttypesofreadingmaterial.ThesewordswerethenassignedthevaluesgiveninThorndike'sTeachers'WordBook,2andcomparisonwasmadeonthebasisoftotalvaluesforeachtype.Theirmethodse
