5、ry,IowaCity,Iowa,USAAbstractAstudywasconductedtodevelopacomputermodeltosimulatethespatialvariabilityoffield-measuredsaturatedhydraulicconductivity(Ks)usingFourierseriesanalysis.Ksmeasurements,bothinsituandinthelaboratory,weremadeat150and300mmdepthsatregularin
6、tervalsof4.6montwoperpendiculartransectscrossingeachotheratthecentreofano-tillfield.ThreeFourierseriesmodels,withafinitenumberofharmonics,weredevelopedtosimulatethevariabilityinKsvalues.ThesemodelsincludedtheregularFourierseriesmodel,thehalf-rangeFourierserie
7、smodelwithonlycosineterms,andthehalf-rangeFourierseriesmodelwithonlysineterms.Also,atestofsignificancewasconductedwiththefirstfiveandeighttermsoftheFourierseriesmodels.Thistestindicatedthatwithonlyfiveoreighttermsmodelperformanceswerenotsignificantlydifferent
8、fromeachotheratthe0.05level.TheoverallresultsofthisstudyindicatedthatspatialvariabilityintheKsmeasurementsmadewithbothtechniques,fieldandlaboratory,canberepresentedsuccessfullywithhalf-ra
