2、rtcircuitprotectionremainsoneofthemajortheconvertersourceshutsitselfdownandcreatesalocaltechnicalbarriersinDCpowersystems.Thispaperintroducesablackout.newconceptofultrafastautonomousSSCBs.ThenewSSCBcomprisesoneormorenormally-onWBGtransistorasthemainFast-a
3、ctingsolidstatecircuitbreakers(SSCBs)havebeenstaticswitchandafast-startingisolatedDC/DCconverterastheintensivelyinvestigatedasasolutiontothissystemproblemprotectiondriver.Itdetectsshortcircuitfaultsbysensingits[2][4]-[10][12].PowersemiconductorssuchasIGBT
4、s,IGCTsdrain-sourcevoltagerise,anddrawspowerfromthefaultandmorerecentlywidebandgap(WBG)semiconductorconditionitselftoturnandholdofftheswitch.Prototypesswitchesarecommerciallyavailableinvoltageandcurrentexperimentallydemonstraterepeatedinterruptionoffaultr
5、atingsthatarecompatiblewiththerequirementsforashipcurrentsupto180amperesataDCbusvoltageof400voltsdistributionsystem.Themicrosecondresponsetimeofpowerwithin0.8µs.Amethodtoextendthisconcepttohigherbussemiconductorsallowsthemtolimitfaultcurrenttolevelsfarvol
6、tagesisalsoproposedandverifiedwithPSPICEsimulation.Abelowthosedictatedbythesupplyinggenerators,andhybridprotectionstrategy,whichcombinesprotectivepowerconsequentlyleadstolowermagneticandthermalstressesonconverters,autonomousSSCBs,andnetworkedSSCBs,isdistr
