4、ontextualfiltering.Theproposedenhancementtechniqueis2-foldasitinvolvesprocessingbothinfrequencyandspatialdomain.Thefingerprintimageisfirstfilteredinfrequencydomainandthenlocaldirectionalfilteringinspatialdomainisappliedtoobtainenhancedfingerprint.Inordertodetermineth
5、eperformanceefficiencyoftheproposedenhancementtechnique,acomparativeanalysisoferrorratesonstandardfingerprintdatabaseshasbeenpresentedwithmajorcontextualenhancementschemes.Theresultsshowtheefficacyoftheproposedschemeascomparedwithothercontextualfilteringtechniques.
6、1Introductionbrokenridges,thedirectionalcontextualfilteringtechniqueshavebeenproventobemosteffective.Fingerprint-basedrecognitionsystemshavebeenveryInanimageenhancementschemebasedoncontextualsignificantinsecurity-relatedapplications.Although,filtering,thefilterpara
7、metersaretunedadaptivelyduringfingerprint-basedauthenticationisamaturefieldoffilteringprocessbasedonsomelocalcharacteristicsoftheresearch,yetbecauseofstringentrequirementsofspeedandimagecontents.Morespecifically,sincetheridgeflowreliability,especiallyforlarge-scalea
8、pplications,itattractspatternsinfingerprintsaretobeenhanced,thefiltervariesmoreinterestofresearchersthananyotherbiometric.itsparametersaccordingtothelocalridgefrequencyandAfing
