5、ontainedinthesilkfibroins.Theadequateheat-treatmenttemperatureturnedthenitrogenatomsofthepeptidebondstothesilkcarbonsintheformofnitrogen-containingfunctionalgroups.Furthermore,theactivationofthesilkcarbonswithsteamandpotassiumhydroxideprovidednitrogen-containingac

6、tivatedcarbons(ACs)withdifferentpore-sizedistribution.Intheapplicationtoelectricdoublelayercapacitors,thesilkcarbon-basedACsshowedahighercapacitanceandanexcellentelectrochemicalstabilityinthehighvoltageregion,comparedwithatypicalACpreparedfromphe-nolicresin.Moresi

7、gnificantly,thesteam-activatedsilkcarbonshowedtheenergydensitythatwascomparabletothatofthephenolicresin-basedACpreparedbychemicalactivation.Thisindicatesthesuperiorityofsteam-activatedsilkcarbonstoconventionalKOH-activatedcarbonmaterialsinsupercapacitorapplication
