4、entofmedicaleducationinNorthAmerica,visitingall155medicalschoolstheninoperationintheUnitedStatesandCanada.His1910report,addressedprimarilytothepublic,helpedchangethefaceofAmericanmedicaleducation.ThepowerofFlexner’sreportderivedfromhisemphasisonthescientificbasisofmedicalpractice,thecomp
5、rehensivenatureofhissurvey,andtheappealofhismessagetotheAmericanpublic.Althoughreforminmedicaleducationwasalreadyunderway,Flexner’sreportfueledchangebycriticizingthemediocrequalityandprofitmotiveofmanyschoolsandteachers,theinadequatecurriculaandfacilitiesatanumberofschools,andthenonscien
