2、illworktogetherwiththedouble-linefivestepship-locks,sothatthenavigationcapacityoftheprojectcanbegreatlyincreasedandthequalityofnavigationbeassured.TGSisafullbalancingropehoistverticalshipliftwithmaximumhoistdistance113mandhoistweight11800tons.ThelargestshipliftofthiskindbeinginoperationnowisStrep
3、yShipliftinBelgiumwithitshoistdistance73mandhoistweight7750tons.ThevaryingamplitudeofwaterlevelupstreaminTGSis109manddownstream12m,withquickvaryingrateofwaterlevel.UnlikeStrepyshipliftwhichstopsonlyintwofixedpositions,TGSshouldstopinanypositionsinsomerangeofdistance.ThismakesTGSmorecomplicatedtha
4、nStrepyshiplift.InordertoassurethereliabilityofTGS,itisnecessarytostudydynamicsinTGS.TGSconsistsmainlyoftheupstreamchannel,theupstreamlock-head,amainhoistsystem,aship-tankofsteelstructureinwhichwaterisfilledandmanyapparatusareincluded,acounterweightsystemwhichbalancescompletelytheweightoftheship-
5、tankwithwater,anelectricdrivingandcontrolsystem,ropesandahydraulicbalancingsystemwhichkeepstheship-tankinhorizontalstateandmakesloadsofropesrollingrounddrumsalmostsame,fourtowerpillarstructuresofconcretewhichsupportthemainhoist,thedownstreamlock-headandthedownstreamchannel.ThetotallineofTGSisabou
6、t500mlong.Thepermanentfacilitywillcomeintooperationin2009.Whentheshipliftruns,shipsbeingreadyforcrossingthedamcomesintothewaterareaof9000tonsinship-tank.Theship-tankamon1gthefour-towerpillarstructureissuspendedby192ropesandliftedorlowedbyhoistalongtheguiderails.Thecounterweightsareconnectedtoship
