2、ractWeproposeageneralizedformofoptimalteleportationwitnesstodemon-stratetheirimportanceinexperimentaldetectionofthelargersetofentangledstatesusefulforteleportationinhigherdimensionalsystems.Theinterestingpropertiesofourwitnessrevealthatteleportationwitnesscanbeusedtocharac
3、terizemixedstateentanglementusingSchmidtnumbers.Ourresultsshowthatwhileeveryteleportationwitnessisalsoaentanglementwitness,theconverseisnottrue.Also,weshowthatahermitianoperatorisateleportationwitnessiffitisadecomposableentanglementwitness.Inaddition,weanalyzethepracticals
4、ignificanceofourstudybydecompos-ingourteleportationwitnessintermsofPauliandGell-Mannmatrices,whichareexperimentallymeasurablequantities.1IntroductionQuantumentanglement[1,2]isanessentialfeatureofquantummechanicswhichhasnoclassicalanalogues.Theexistenceoflongrangequantumcorr
5、elationsbetweenentangledparticlesallowstheuseofentangledsystemsasresourcesforefficientinfor-mationtransferthroughprotocolssuchasquantumcomputing[3],cryptography[4],teleportation[5,6]anddensecoding[7,8].Althoughentangledstatesareusedforvarioustheoreticalapplicationsinquantum
