3、andparticletransportbehaviorsincontinuouscastingmold.Themodifiedk-εmodelwithextrasourcetermtoaccountforthebubble-inducedturbu-lenceisadoptedtomodeltheturbulenceinthissystem.ThetransportofparticleissimulatedusingaLagrangianapproachbasedonthecomputedtwo-phaseflowfields.A1/4thscalewatermodelhasbeend

4、evelopedtoinvestigatethebubblebehaviorandfluidflowpattern.Airisinjectedintothesubmergedentrynozzle(SEN)throughacircumferentialinletchamberwhichismadeusingspecially-coatedsamplesofmulliteporousbrick.Thepredictionsofgasbubbledistributionandfluidflowpatternareingoodagree-mentwiththewatermodelexperim

5、entalobservations.Argonbubblescanchangetheflowpatternintheupperrecirculationzoneofthemold,increasethefluctuationofthetopsurface,andshifttheimpinge-mentpointonthenarrowwall.Theeffectincreaseswithincreasingargongasflowrate,anddecreasingcastingspeedandbubblesize.Argongasinjectionenhancestheremovalof
