3、ensteelinthemoldiscalcu-latedusingthelargeeddysimulation.Anenthalpy-porosityapproachisusedfortheanalysisofsolidificationprocesses.Thetransportofbubbleandnon-metallicinclusioninsidetheliquidpooliscalculatedusingtheLagrangianapproachbasedonthetransientflowfield.Acriterion

4、ofparticleentrapmentinthesolidifiedshellisdevelopedusingtheuser-definedfunctionsofFLUENTsoftware(ANSYS,Inc.,Canonsburg,PA).Thepredictedresultsofthismodelarecomparedwiththemeasurementsoftheultrasonictestingoftherolledsteelplatesandthewatermodelexperiments.Thetransientas

5、ymmetricalflowpatterninsidetheliquidpoolexhibitsquitesatisfactoryagreementwiththecorrespondingmeasurements.Thepredictedcomplexinstantaneousvelocityfieldiscomposedofvarioussmallrecirculationzonesandmultiplevortices.Thetransportofparticlesinsidetheliquidpoolandtheentrapm

6、entofparticlesinthesolidifiedshellarenotsymmetric.TheMagnusforcecanreducetheentrapmentratioofparticlesinthesolidifiedshell,especiallyforsmallerparticles,buttheeffectisnotobvious.TheMarangoniforcecanplayanimportantroleincontrollingthemotionofparticles,whichincreasesthee
