3、ithamembranebioreactor(MBR).Domesticwastewaterenteringanoxidationditchataflowrateof86m/dwasdirectedtoaMBRretrofittedintotheoriginalsecondarysedimentationtank.TheMBRcontainedflatsheetmembranes.Thedatacollectedfor2monthsduringthestart-upofthesystemshowedthatpHwasmain
4、tainedat7.2and6.7inODandMBR,respectively.Dissolvedoxygen(DO)inMBRremainedstableat7.8mg/L,whilefluctuatedinOD.Themixedliquorsuspendedsolids(MLSS)intheODremainedsteadyataconcentrationabout1000mg/L,butitwasgraduallybuildingupfrom500mg/Lto2400mg/LintheMBRduringthisperi
5、od.Measurementsofcarbohydrateandproteinweremadebyextractingtheextracellularpolymericsubstances(EPS)withsodiumhydroxide(NaOH)fromthemixedliquorobtainedfrombothODandMBR.CarbohydratewaspredominantintheEPSandtheratiosbetweencarbohydrateandproteinconvergedtofixedvaluesf
6、romthefourthweek;inthiscasetheratiowas4.5forODand5forMBR.ThevariationinEPScontentsshowedsimilartrendsinbothODandMBR.Theintegratedtreatmentfacilityremovedammonia,CODandBODat100,91.6and97.0%,respectively.However,efficiencyofnitrateandphosphateremovalhasnotbeenrealize
