2、hownhowtomakeartificialmaterials,metamaterials,withnegativeµ.Therapidadvanceofthesubjectsincethatdate,bothintheoryandexperiment,isreflectedintheexponentialgrowthofpublicationsnowatthe200peryearlevelandstillgrowing.Thisinterestisexplainedbythesuddenavailabilityofaqual
3、itativelydifferentclassofelectromagneticmaterialscombinedwiththequitestartlingpropertieswhichthesematerialsappeartohave;allofwhichprovokesdebateaseachnewfacetoftheirbehaviourisrevealed.Experimenthasbeenvitaltoresolutionofcontroversyandhaschieflybeeninthemicrowaveregi
