4、ivecarefunding.Ishadowedtheexecutive-vicepresidentofthehealthsysteminallfinance,executivestaff,andboardmeetings.Theseinternshipsconfirmedmydesiretoworkinhealthcareandtocontinueonforagraduatedegree.Afterapplying,visiting,andbeingacceptedtomultiplegraduateschools,Idecidedtofurther
5、myeducationatauniversitywhereIfeltmostcomfortablewiththecurriculum,alumni,andprofessors—TheUniversityofAlabamaatBirmingham.Theprogramwasrankedinthe106careersinhealthcaremanagement03haddockprofiles1/28/021:38PMPage107toptenandIfelt“athome”inBirmingham.Sixmonthslater,Imovedfromt
6、hecoldofWisconsintotheheatofAlabamawithnoregrets.Whileattendinggraduateschool,Iwasagraduateassistantfortheprogramdirectorandachestudentchapterpresident,andIbeganworkingpart-timeforamanagedcareorganizationonprojectsregard-ingphysicianbehaviorandpreventiveperformance.Theseactivi
