6、edgesarecontinuousinnatureandhaveatransitionpartduetodiscretesamplinginthecamera.Theedgesofanobjectrarelyfallonpixelboundaries.Sub-pixellocationaccuracyofedgesisrequiredinmanycriticalapplicationslikemedicalimage,imagemeasurement,remotesensing,andsate
7、lliteimagery.Sub-pixellocationaccuracyishigherthantheimageresolution.Thussub-pixeledgealgorithmsutilizefloatingpointoperationstorealizehigherprecisionedges.Thecommonsub-pixeledgedetectionmethodsfallinthreecategories:reconstructiontechniques,interpola
