6、reducedatleastbyafactorof10.QuantumchemicalsimulationsshowthatIRintensitiesofendohedrallyencapsulatedmoleculesaredramaticallyreduced,andidentifydielectricscreeningbyhighlypolarizableSWCNTsidewallsastheoriginofsuch“screening”.Theobservedintensityreductionoriginat
7、esfromasizablecancellationofadsorbatedipolemomentsbymirrorchargesdynamicallyinducedonthenanotubesidewalls.Forexohedrallyadsorbedmolecules,thedielectricscreeningisfoundtobeorientation-dependentwithasmallermagnitudeforadsorptioningrooveandinterstitialsites.Thepres
