2、s.virginia.eduABSTRACT1.INTRODUCTIONWirelessSensorNetworkshavebeenproposedforamultitudeofWirelessSensorNetworks(WSNs)distinguishthemselvesfromlocation-dependentapplications.Forsuchsystems,thecostandothertraditionalwirelessorwirednetworksthroughsensorandlimitationsofthehardwa
3、reonsensingnodespreventtheuseofactuatorbasedinteractionwiththeenvironment.Suchnetworksrange-basedlocalizationschemesthatdependonabsolutepoint-havebeenproposedforvariousapplicationsincludingsearchandto-pointdistanceestimates.Becausecoarseaccuracyissufficientrescue,disasterrel
4、ief,targettracking,andsmartenvironments.formostsensornetworkapplications,solutionsinrange-freeTheinherentcharacteristicsofthesesensornetworksmakealocalizationarebeingpursuedasacost-effectivealternativetonode’slocationanimportantpartoftheirstate.Forsuchmoreexpensiverange-base
