2、menewrisksemerging.Thereareencouragingsignsofimprovingactivityinadvancedeconomies,whilegrowthinmanyemergingmarketeconomieshasmoderated.Growthhasgenerallyremainedresilientinlow-incomecountries.Wewillbuildonrecentprogressandimplementmoreambitiousandcoherentpoliciesforstron
3、g,sustainable,andbalancedgrowth,whilereducingmarketvolatility.Thisrequirescarefullymanagingmultipletransitions,includingashiftingrowthdynamics,normalizingglobalfinancialconditions,achievingfiscalsustainability,arebalancingofglobaldemand,andmovingtoamorestableglobalfinanc
4、ialsystem.Structuralpoliciestoboostproductivity,reduceunemploymentandtoachievemoreinclusivegrowtharewarrantedinmanycountries.WewelcomethedirectionssetforthintheManagingDirector’sGlobalPolicyAgenda.Advancedeconomies.TherecoveryintheUnitedStateshasgainedground,stimulusmeas
5、ureshaveinducedarecoveryinJapan,theeuroareaisemergingfromrecession,andinsomeotheradvancedeconomiesincludingtheUnitedKingdomgrowthisalreadypickingup.Accommodativemonetarypolicieshavehelpedsupportglobalgrowthwhilemaintainingstableprices,andremainappropriate,andshouldbeacco
6、mpaniedbycrediblefiscalpoliciesandfurtherfinancialsectorandstructuralreforms.Theeventualtransitiontowardthenormalizationofmonetarypolicyinthecontextofstrengthenedandsustainedgrowthshouldbewelltimed,carefullycalibrated,andclearlycommunicated.Wherecountrycircumstancesallow
7、,medium-termfiscalplansshouldbeimplementedflexiblytotakeaccountofnear-termeconomicconditionstosupportgrowthandjobcreation,whileplacinggovernmentdebtonasustainabletrack.Theseactionswillhelptomitigaterisksandmanagespillovers,includingthosestemmingfromincreasedcapitalflowvo
8、latility,andtoachievestrong,sustainedandbalancedgrowth.TheUnitedStatesneedstotakeurgentactiontoaddresss
