5、omicsdictatecertainsystemdesignandoperatingphilosophies,theprobabilityincreasesthatlocalorsystem-wideproblemsnotsolvablebyequipment-specificprotectionsystemsmustbeaddressed.Remedialactionschemesareappliedtosolvesingleandcrediblemultiple-contingencyproblems.Theseschemeshavebecomemorecommon

6、primarilybecausetheyarelesscostlyandquickertopermitandbuildthanmajortransmissionlinesandpowerplantsthatmightprovideotheralternatives.MajorapplicationsofRASincludeincreasingpowertransfers,addingreactivesupport,utilizingreactivesupportavailableelsewherewithintheregion,andlimitingthescaleofc
