2、powersystemofGotlandhasearlierbeenusedinthepowersystemsimulationsoftwareSimpowbutnowthereisaneedtodevelopamodelinPSS/E.InthepowersystemofGotlandthereareseveralcomponentsthatneedtobemodelledsuchaslines,loads,transformers,shuntimpedances,synchronousmac

3、hines,asynchronousmachines,anHVDCClassiclinkandanHVDCLightlink.ThesecomponentsaremodelledintheSimpowmodelandneedstobeconvertedtothePSS/Emodel.TheaimistodevelopamodelinPSS/EthatisasequalaspossibletothemodelinSimpow.EspeciallytheHVDCLightlinkatGotlandh

4、asbeeninvestigatedintheproject.AproblemwithconvertingdatafromSimpowtoPSS/EisthatthemodelsofseveralcomponentsdifferinSimpowandPSS/E.Linesandshuntimpedancescanbemodelledinthesamewaybutthemodelsforloads,transformers,synchronousmachines,asynchronousmachi

5、nes,theHVDCClassiclink,andtheHVDCLightlinkdifferinSimpowandPSS/E.ThemodelsinSimpowareconvertedtothemodelsinPSS/Einanasequalwayaspossible.TheresultsinPSS/EareanalyzedandcomparedwiththeSimpowmodel.Intheprojectwehavealsomadeatestoffaultsimulationsintime

6、-domainsimulationsinPSS/E.TheaimwiththistestistoverifythePSS/Ecalculationswhenathree-phaseorasingle-phasefaultisapplied.ThereasonforthatisthatPSS/Eonlycalculatesusingpositive-sequencecomponentsandthereforeonlyisabletocalculateexactduringcircumstances

7、ofsymmetricalloadsandfaults.TheresultshowsthatthecalculationsforbothsymmetricalandunsymmetricalfaultsinPSS/Earecorrectconcerningthepositive-sequencecomponents.AdrawbackinPSS/Eis,however,thatwedonothaveanyinformationconcerningthenegative-andzero-seque
