2、ngThepurposeofthisstudywastoevaluateoutcomesoftheendovasculartreatmentofsplenicarteryaneurysms(SAAs)andpseudoaneurysms(SAPAs).FromApril2003toDecember2009,12patients(meanage46.8years,range2958)withSAAs(n=9)orSAPAs(n=3)underwentendovasculartreatment.Fourpatientswereasymptomaticandthreehadruptureda
3、neurysms.Lesionswereintheproximalsplenicartery(n=3),intermediatesplenicartery(n=3)anddistalsplenicartery(n=6).Endovascularproceduresincludedembolizationbysacpacking(n=5),sandwichocclusionofthesplenicartery(n=4)orstentgraftdeployment(n=3).Computedtomography(CT)wasdonebeforetheoperation,3and12mont
4、hsaftertheoperation,thenyearly.Endovasculartreatmentwassuccessfulatthefirstattemptinall12(100%)patients,withcompleteangiographicexclusionoftheaneurysmattheendoftheoperation.Themeanamountofcontrastmediumusedwas165mL(range100230),andthemeantotalproceduretimewas92minutes(range55160).Nomajorcomplica
5、tionsoccurred.PostoperationalCTscansshowedsplenicmultisegmentalinfarctsineightpatients(66.7%,8/12)andamongthempostembolizationsyndromedevelopedinsixpatients,manifestingasabdominalpainandfever.Themeanfollow-upwas32months(range951).Nopatientdemonstratedgrossevidenceofaneurysmsacgrowth,andnosignifi
6、cantdecreaseinaneurysmsacsizepostinterventionwasnotedonfollow-up.TheendovascularmanagementofSAAsandSAPAsissafeandeffectiveandmayinducelessmortalitythanopensurgery.Regardlessoftheetiology,endovasculartreatmentcanprovideexcellentmid-termresults.Keywords:splenicartery;aneurysm;endovascular;therapeu
