1、AbstractInthispaper,wedemonstratetheTiO2microspheresviaafacilesolvothermalprocessusingself-fabricatedTiO2precursorandaseriesofTiO2/carbonquantumdots(CQDs)hybridsviaainsituhydrothermalmethodfromagreencarbonsource,glucose.XRD,HRTEM,FTIRandXPSanalysesshowedthatcarbonhasdopedintheas-synthesize

2、dTiO2microsphereswhichledtolocalenergylevelinthebandstructureandavalencebandtailstoabsorbvisiblelight.Moreover,thephotocatalyticactivitiesoftheseproductswereevaluatedbythephotodegradationofRhodamineB(RhB)undervisiblelightirradiation.TheimprovedphotocatalyticactivitieswereobservedfortheTiO2

3、/CQDssamplesundervisiblelightdegradation,inwhichtheTiO2/CQDs-2sampleobtainedwithaglucoseconcentrationof0.02%wtexhibitedthehighestrate.ItwasattributedtotheCQDsactasachargeseparationcenterforimpedingtherecombinationandprolongingthelifetimeofelectronandholepairs,andanabsorptionsiteforthepollu

4、tantmolecules.Keywords:carbonquantumdot(CQD),TiO2microspheres,carbon-doped,photocatalyticactivity.IntroductionInrecentyears,theexpandingorganicenvironmentalpollutionhasbecamethecrucialissuewhichnotonlyinfluencehumanbeing’shealthy,butalsointurnhinderthesocialandeconomicdevelopment.Therefore

5、,severalresearcheshavebeenfocusedonandagreatmountofsemiconductors(suchasTiO2[1],ZnO[2],SnO2[3],ZnS,CdS[4]andMoS2[5])havebeencarriedoutasefficientphotocatalystsinenvironmentalpurificationandenergyconversionduetotheiruniquechemicalandelectronicstructures[6].Amongthosesemiconductors,titaniumo

6、xide(TiO2),n-typewiththebandgapofabout3.2eV,attractsmuchattentionandbecomeoneofthemostpromisingcandidatesfordyedegradationduetoitslow-cost,non-toxicpropertyandchemical-photostability[7-9].Especially,TiO2microsphereswerefabricatedtoimprovephotocatalysisforitsuniformmorphologywithlessagglome
