3、eristicsofEastAsiansummermonsoonwereanalyzed.TheresultsshowedthatEastAsiansummermonsooninthe1920swasthestrongest.TheintensityofEastAsiansummermonsoonafterthestmiddleperiodofthe1980spresentedweakenedtrend.Itwastheweakestintheearly21century.Morletwaveletanalysisfoundthattheinter-decadala
4、ndinterannualvariationsofEastAsiansummermonsoonhadquasi-10-yearandquasi-2-yearsignificanceperiods.Theinterannualvari-ationofprecipitationintheeastofChinacloselyrelatedtointensityvariationofEastAsiansummermonsoon.Instrong(weak)EastAsiansum-mermonsoonyear,therainfallinthemiddleandlowreac
5、hesofYangtzeRiverwasless(more)thanthatincommonyear,whiletherainfallinNorthChinawasmore(less)thanthatincommonyear.TheweakeningofEastAsiansummermonsoonwasanimportantreasonforthatitwasrainless(drought)inNorthChinaandrainy(flood)inthemiddleandlowreachesoftheYangtzeRiverafterthemiddleperiod
