2、rstandtheirrespectivedutiesandresponsibilitiesunderUniversityPolicyHR-23,thestatutoryrightofpromotionandtenurecandidatestoreviewcertainportionsoftheirpromotionandtenuredossiers,andtheUniversity’spolicywithrespecttoindemnificationanddefenseofacademicadministratorsandpeerreviewcommittee

3、membersparticipatingintheHR-23promotionandtenurereviewprocess.LegalObligationtoComplywithHR-23ProceduresTheUniversityislegallyobligatedundertheDueProcessClauseoftheFourteenthAmendmenttotheUnitedStatesConstitutiontoconductpromotionandtenurereviewsinstrictaccordancewiththeprovisionsofHR

4、-23.AllacademicadministratorsandpeerreviewcommitteemembersparticipatinginthepromotionandtenurereviewprocessmustbethoroughlyfamiliarwiththeprovisionsofHR-23andtheAdministrativeGuidelinesforHR-23.AsaparticipantintheHR-23process,youshouldunderstandandfollowtheHR-23proceduresapplicabletoy

5、ouracademicunit.BecomeandremaininformedaboutHR-23.1.ReadUniversityPolicyHR-23,theAdministrativeGuidelinesforHR-23andanyapplicableacademicunitstatementofcriteriaandexpectationsthatelaboratesontheHR-23criteria.2.Understandwhatyouhavereadandbecertaintoaskquestionsifyoudonotunderstandthep

6、roceduresyouarerequiredtofollow.Followthespecifiedprocedures.1.Promotionandtenureevaluations(e.g.,academicjudgments)aretobebasedexclusivelyontheHR-23criteria.2.Theacademicadministratorandpeerreviewcommitteeateachlevelofreviewmustprepareareportrecommendingornotrecommendingthepromotiona
